Welcome to the Sherlock International Plug-ins Archive. I hope you find these plug-ins useful for searching a variety of international content on the Web. These plug-ins deal mainly with sites that offer some type of international content, whether its international affairs, news, business, commerce or foreign language sites.
To use these plug-ins you will need MacOS 8.5 or greater. Simply download the file(s) and drag the plug-in(s) to your system folder. You will then be ready to search several websites, simultaneously, without ever opening a web browser. All files are very small (15k or less) and download in a few seconds. You may need StuffitExpander 5 or greater to extract files. If the icons are not showing up, try using Icon Fixer.

I'd love to see plug-ins for non-Western language sites (Russian, Japanese, Greek, etc).

10-27-99 - Updates: Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty and 50 Euroferret Plug-Ins.

10-26-99 - I have removed those god-awful banners from the top of the page.

10-26-99 - A problem has shown up in the Euroferret plug-ins. It displays search results only when the maximum (100) results are returned. Otherwise, the search produces no results. A simple fix will be uploaded tomorrow. You can auto-update your plug-ins through Sherlock or dowload the new pack and replace the old plug-ins.

10-26-99 - Reaction to the new generation of Sherlock technology has received mixed reviews from users. Search sets are a welcome addition for most. Complaints focus on the QT4 interface, the amount of desktop space it occupies, and the inability to spawn multiple search result windows.

10-12-99 - On Tuesday, Apple announced Mac OS 9 and detailed many of the features of Sherlock 2. Plug-ins are grouped into channels with unique formatting of results. Users can create custom channels to supplement those provided by Apple. Apple's Sherlock site has been updated with the latest information although basic instructions on how to create plug-ins for Sherlock has been removed. Apple suggests that existing plug-ins will work best under the 'Internet' channel.
